I bought the car originally because I fell in love with it, got it for a very good price, didn't do any research on the web, just bought it. Later found out that my model's engine suffered the dreaded "Nakasil" engine. Where basically if the lower block was not changed it could go drastically wrong and run up huge bills for repair.

On my first trip to my local BMW dealer, I stopped at the service department, gave them my VIN number, and asked what engine work had been done under warranty as I was worried about this problem. I had the sweet reply "Sir your engine was done at 46000 miles. All ok"
